2025-05-16 Plitvička Jezera ============================ The reason for coming to Grabovac was that we wanted to see the Plitvička Jezera. It had many, many fantastic waterfalls, and a wooden walkway passing beneath them, going through the water-flooded areas, a boat to take you across one of the larger lakes, and more waterfalls. It was mind-boggling. It was beautiful. It was almost too wonderful to take in. But see for yourself. Approach the canyon and see the first few waterfalls down below. green forest and a white limestone canyon below, with waterfalls Descend the trail and get closer to the waterfalls. Then notice the wooden walkways down below and realise that you will be down there, right there! Also, this is in May and apparently there are many more people here in summer. a walkway beneath the limestone cliffs leads to the waterfalls Never forget to look at the little flowers along the way! As always, I identify them with Flora Incognita later that day. Here, for example, I guessed some sort of carnation. On the way, there were a number of vista points into the valley below.
