The European Song Contest doesn’t allow Russia:

> Following its exclusion from the 2022 contest due to the Russian
> invasion of Ukraine, on 26 February 2022, the Russian broadcasters
> VGTRK and Channel One announced that they would suspend their
> membership in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The EBU made
> effective the suspension on 26 May, preventing Russia from
> participating in further Eurovision events unless its membership is
> resumed. – Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest

Spanish RTVE sends a message about Gaza during the song contest:

> El mensaje de RTVE antes de Eurovisión: "Frente a los derechos
> humanos, el silencio no es una opción. Paz y justicia para
> Palestina"

On the web page they add some context:

> La representante israelí, fue víctima de los atentados de Hamás del
> 7 de octubre de 2023 y ha contado su historia por todo el mundo,
> incluso ante Naciones Unidas, acompañada de otras víctimas.

Israel complained and now the EBU threatens RTVE with a fine.

Let me check the numbers for Russia:

> 14,200–14,400 military and civilian deaths during the War in Donbas,
> and up to 1,000,000 estimated casualties during the Russian invasion
> of Ukraine till mid-September 2024. – Casualties of the
> Russo-Ukrainian War

And for Israel:

> As of 7 May 2025, almost 55,000 people (53,253 Palestinians and
> 1,706 Israelis) have been reported killed in the Gaza war according
> to the official figures of the Gaza Health Ministry, as well as 166
> journalists and media workers, 120 academics, and over 224
> humanitarian aid workers, a number that includes 179 employees of
> UNRWA. Scholars have estimated 80% of Palestinians killed are
> civilians. A study by OHCHR, which verified fatalities from three
> independent sources, found that 70% of the Palestinians killed in
> residential buildings or similar housing were women and children. –
> Casualties of the Gaza war

And that doesn’t include the planned war crimes, as mentioned a month
ago.
