2025-05-18 Krka national park, Vodice ===================================== I’m falling behind with posting pictures. 😬 I expected the Krka national park to be similar to our visit to Plitvice national park. But no, it was very different. There were wooden walkways, lots of greenery growing in the rapids, lots of tufaceous limestone. Everything else was different. 😄 It began with a long, steep trail from the parking lot down to the river. a trail through a pine forest Spitzenfleck Libellula fulva a blue dragonfly Kretischer Ziest Stachys cretica 2025-05-18-krka-3.jpg Knäuelköpfige Distel Carduus pycnocephalus 2025-05-18-krka-4.jpg Tüpfel-Hartheu Hypericum perforatum 2025-05-18-krka-5.jpg We reached the bottom and started on our trail. Alex standing on a woode walkway a few inches above the water surface the water flows between little islands of greenery then walkway snakes its way over the rapids; trees are everywhere sometimes the water lies still Alex and Claudia, both wearing hats Calopterix virgo a steel blue damselfly another steel blue damselfly And the trail continues, the cascades pick up speed. water flowing between grass, reeds, trees A waterfall with and and without people: people queuing for a selfie in front of a waterfall a beautiful watefall Another waterfall with and and without people: the walkway has a rail and people lean ot it, posing for selfies, with the waterfall in the back the same waterfall without people Time to say goodbye to the Krka national park! more waterfalls in a lush landscape bursting with plants We still had some time and decided to stop in Vodice on our way back to Šibenik. Alex in a narrow alley We mostly walked along the water towards Tribunj and back. It's so nice to hear the waves and feel the breeze. How do they do it? They don't look like mangroves to me. I assume some subterranean compartment to keep their water supply separate. a pebble stone beach with a variety of trees #Croatia #Pictures
