2025-05-29 Fighting against the news

The news is dragging me down. Israel and the genocide in Palestine;
the invasion of Russia into Ukraine; the government in Germany; the
government in the USA … ugh!

The world is so terrible that I'm lacking words now that I'm back from
the holidays and have more time to read it. Somehow I also feel that
it's not OK to just post about random stuff at a place where I see too
much stuff that's upsetting me. I can't counteract the terror of
reading about the state of the world by posting about the flowers I
see when I go for a walk. Instead, I'd better go for another walk, I
think.

@frauxirah@chaos.social @randomgeek@masto.hackers.town and
@babelcarp@social.tchncs.de reminded me that there is an important
part about going for walks and maybe taking pictures of flowers,
though: to bring back joy. So I brought back some pictures. And then I
spent some time with music instruments, making a drum pattern, adding
some stuff. It’s not great but it drove away the sadness.

So here’s to life. 😄

Maybe next time I should take pictures of my surroundings, too.
