Yes, back in the mid-1990s (about 30 years ago), I carried several usenet
newsgroups.  It became increasingly difficult to do so, though, as ISPs
eventually did away with news servers as a part of their services.  I still
currently carry a few, like this one, via fidonet hubs that still have a
gate set up.
