A few things to point out here.

Elon, being certainly on the Spectrum, is more "machine-like" than a normal
human.  So an AI fake of him will certainly come across as more natural than
usual.

We've already had really good audio fakes of people for a while now.  I think
that it's mostly because there are fewer cues in just an audio file to make it
seem fake.

We will certainly go through this phase at some point.  Then people will stop
believing photos/recordings/video.  Which will make it harder to embarass the
Left.

Based on past predictions, we always predict the future to be like today only
"more".  What usually happens is some sort of disruptive technology that
changes things in a way we can't imagine today.
