I would try some sort of tunneling for accessing the BBS. I set a home VPN
precisely because of these scenarios.

WHen I take the bus to work and back, I use the free Wifi provided by the bus.
They block a lot of traffic and have DNS hijacking. I bypass it using my VPN.
