Strands is the NYT's latest word game after the likes of Wordle, Spelling Bee 
and Connections  and it's great fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on 
for my Strands hints.

The answers to today's Strands, game #605, are FEATHERED BLACK WINGED CLEVER 
OMNIVEROUS SPANGRAM: THATSSORAVEN My rating: Hard My score: 3 hints 

When the theme goes completely over your head Strands can be so 
difficult/impossible. 

Ive never felt closer to giving up than I did in this game, but fortunately 
it was easy to spot dozens of non-game words  most of which you could add the 
letters E-R to in order to get another non-game word. 

Even with all these hints I still struggled, especially over the spangram. 

Some post-game googling revealed that the spangram is the title of a Disney 
TV show and the Nevermore! theme is a riff on the Alan Edgar Poe poem The 
Raven , but if Im honest Im still puzzled. Completed it, though. Yesterday's 
NYT Strands answers (Tuesday, October 28, game #604) ERASER REFILL GRAPHITE

Strands is the NYT's not-so-new-any-more word game, following Wordle and 
Connections. It's now a fully fledged member of the NYT's games stable that 
has been running for a year and which can be played on the NYT Games site on 
desktop or mobile.
