Beginning programming students now use a dedicated LSI-11 equipped with floppy disk. The system includes a screen editor that is based on the PL/C constructs such as if, do, etc. One amazing feature of this editor is that it is impossible to type in a program with a syntax error. Also, a 'slow run' mode is provided in which the cursor steps through each statement as it is executed. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
