Aucf-cs.492 net.misc utcsrgv!utzoo!decvax!duke!ucf-cs!whm Sat Apr 3 02:49:44 1982 Crackdown on jokes at Stanford I don't know how much factual data was presented, but a couple of mornings ago I heard a story on the radio that concerned adminstrative purging of "data banks" that consisted of jokes at Stanford University. An adminstrator at Stanford was quoted as saying "there were jokes to offend about everyone" involved in the situation. There were also mentions of "computer data banks" filled with recipes and wine reviews (sound familiar?). Another quote went something to the tune of "The jokes were being used to train computer nuts." (?) Anybody else heard anything about this, I've only heard it mentioned on the radio that once, and no further mention of it since.
