I am at the outlet mall in Carlsbad, sitting outside at the SBUX in
the heat. It probably around 90 degrees F, which is much better than
       at home (112 degrees F!)

We drove out here with the outlaws to escape the heat over the long
weekend. We drove out yesterday and spent the day at La Jolla Cove,
a nice, touristy area with a beach, park, restaurants, shops, etc.
We found a cluster of trees and set up camp for the day.

The breeze coming off of the ocean, the sun,the birds, all of that
was really nice. I don't think it went over 87 degrees F while we
were there. Much tolerable than at home. We walked over to the
beach area and waded for a bit. The water was refreshing and the
waves were fun to splash around in. Also, lots of pretty girls
in bikinis. It looks like butt floss is back in fashion and many
of the women wore it well. I practiced much discretion with the
       people-watching.

After lunch, I brought out my guitar and practiced under the tree.
Most everybody else was just listening or taking a nap. It was a
nice stretch of uninterrupted practice and it was such a nice
setting with the sun the breeze the birds, and the ocean. I even
struggled through playing and singing the song Summer Breeze, by
       Seals & Croft.

We took off before sunset to meet up with some friends for some
socially-distanced BBQ and conversation. After, we went back to
the hotel, cleaned up, and watched some TV with the A/C set to full
blast. I finished the day just reading my book until I fell asleep.
I had a really nice, refreshing sleep. It is nice to sleep when
the room is cold enough to use a comforter.

       20200907 ADDENDUM: Here's a sunset pic from Sunday's dinner.[1] We
stopped by San Clemente to watch the gorgeous sunset at dinner
time. I couldn't take it home with me, so I took the photo and
enjoyed the impermanence of me experiencing a sunset with my family
on 20200906 in San Clemente that will never happen again. The
transience and brevity of the moment made me shiver. All we are is
       dust in the wind, DUDE!
