“.....a dream is a wish your heart makes.....”

To make a long story short, one of my long-wished-for dreams got
fulfilled February 28, 2019.<happy dance>
My 3 DD’s, my DDIL, and I went to a movie theater in
NearbyVerySmallCity to see Gone With The Wind. We all live about
an hour away in somewhat different directions, so we left
shortly after work to get to NVSC in time to have a quick supper
before getting to the theater for the 6:00pm showing. 4 hours
later, we all declared the evening together to be a lot of fun,
and that we needed to do this regularly in the future.
It was a special showing because this year is the 80th
anniversary of the premiere of Gone With The Wind (1939).
My mother was 10 when she and her mother(my GrammaH) saw it in
the theater in 1939.
I was 16 or 17 (1970 or 1971) when my mother and I saw it in the
same theater that she and Gramma saw it. I thought at the time,
I wanted to take my daughters to see it in the theaters also.
Then VHS, and then later DVD, made it possible to watch the
movie at home whenever. It was just not exactly the same, but it
was better than not seeing at all. OldestDD told me that she
remembers watching it on VHS sometime during one of the times
Mom&Dad visited us from New Jersey after we moved to Kentucky.
(I’m so glad she has that memory)
Thursday evening was a very special night. We had a such a good
time......AND.....we didn’t have to cook or clean up
afterwards. :D The 4 daughters could just be grown women,
instead of having to be “Mom” and needed for
something. I love them, and truly like and appreciate them for
the unique and wonderful women they are.
Mom and Gramma.....thank you for the good example you were to
me.
