He's 20, and finished a degree at the local community college in IT. He now has a job (starts September 1st) at a different community college in his field. It'd been a bit of a struggle for him, because although you would think that IT is a shoe-in for work, all the job openings were for people with years of experience and not much at all for the first rung of the working ladder in the field. It's gone through the board, so the job offer and start date are official. The college in question is about an hour drive from here, and he plans to commute at first. His twin sister is still in college, after a change in plans (she was originally planning to be a nurse, but working in a nursing home as a CNA during Covid has her feeling burnt out on health care, so now she's looking at teaching biology at the high school level). Fortunately, she is only starting her junior year this year, so she won't lose a whole lot of time due to the change of major. #Post#: 69494-------------------------------------------------- Re: Youngest son's new job By: gramma dishes Date: August 22, 2021, 8:18 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Glad to hear it! You and he must both be feeling pretty proud (and relieved!) right now.
