players put on their gear.
09:30 Registration opens, and admissions are collected.
10:00 Registration closes, and game rules are reviewed.
10:30 Players enter the field and store their guns at the
Moderator tent.
11:00 Game starts.
13:00 Game pauses, and players leave for lunch.
14:00 Players reenter the field and report to the Moderator
tent.
14:30 Game resumes.
16:00 Game ends, and dog tags are counted at the Moderator tent
to declare the winner.
$10 Admission
This event is modeled after Battle Royale, The Hunger Games,
Running Man, and other dystopian scenarios where players are
forced to hunt each other and attempt to survive horrific
menaces. Players may form alliances with each other. But, in
the end, only the player who has collected the most dog tags
from the others will be the winner!
Kit
There are no clothing restrictions for this event, but please
don’t wear much black because we’d like this color to be
exclusive to our Enforcers. We recommend lightweight loadouts
with good camouflage so that you can run and hide as needed.
Please have at least one pocket to store the dog tags and fusion
orbs (ping-pong balls) that you’ll be collecting.
Player Weapon Storage
For this event, players are encouraged to bring their own
boffers (soft melee weapons), springer pistols/shotties/rifles,
bolt-action guns, gas-powered guns, AEPs, LPEGs, AEGs, HPA guns,
extra magazines, bags of BBs, grenades, mines, and other
airsoft/LARP weapons/accessories.
At 10:30, players will report to the Moderator tent located next
to Wolves’ Den near the center of the field. Each of your items
will be labeled with your name and safely stored there until you
“unlock” them later in the game. No other players will be
allowed to unlock/touch your property, and Moderators will be
present at the tent to watch over it. You must start the game
without any weapons or related items on your person.
Players are prohibited from searching the field in advance or
planting weapons. The arms race among players will escalate as
the game progresses.
Scavenge
At 11:00 startex, players are expected to race around the field
looking for scattered weapons that may be used to eliminate the
others. Also, look for white fusion orbs that may be used to
unlock the weapons/accessories that are stored under the
Moderator tent. Prices to unlock items will vary and will
change throughout the day. If you find a weapon that you don’t
want, you must leave it in place rather than hiding it from
everyone else. You may not pick up or shoot any loose BBs found
on the field. Fusion orbs may not be thrown or wielded as
weapons.
Hit Rules
In order to eliminate another player during this game, you must
use a synthetic toy weapon and not just your hands or the
natural items found in the field. If you or anything worn on
your body are struck by a projectile (BB/Nerf) or a boffer then
you’re immediately considered to be eliminated from play.
Dueling players will often strike each other simultaneously;
therefore, both will be eliminated. Boffers of any size may be
thrown at the enemy; however, BBs may only be projected from a
gun. Weapons that are lying at rest and not in anyone’s
possession may be picked up by any player. If you are
eliminated while holding weapons, you may keep those weapons
with you to use later after respawning. Any fusion orbs or
enemy dog tags that you have are to remain with you as well.
After being hit, you’re expected to loudly call "Hit, hit, hit!"
as you wave your red rag a couple times and place it on your
head. You want your attacker to know that she/he hit you so that
you will no longer be targeted for more hits. Close-range hits
don’t require such loud acknowledgements. Stealth-hits are to be
acknowledged silently by simply putting on the red rag without
saying “hit” or anything else. Theatrical casualties are
encouraged because they add to the immersion.
You may not shoot at or attempt to eliminate anyone else while
you’re in an eliminated state. You may not communicate with live
players or use radios other than to announce that you’ve been
hit. However, you may speak to other eliminated players about
anything as long as it’s spoken quietly enough to where no live
players will overhear the conversation.
Respawn Rules
Prior to the start of the battle, Moderators will give you some
personalized paper dog tags on a chain that must be worn on your
neck throughout the battle. Once you are hit, you must sit in
place and hold up one of the dog tags for another player to
take. The first player to get to you and take the tag might not
necessarily be the one who eliminated you. As soon as your tag
has been taken, you are free to move with your red rag on to a
respawn location of your choice. There will be seven orange
respawn poles spread around the field plus a large Central
Respawn Zone located around the Moderator tent:
HTML http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/ag327/OmegoAirsoft/Battle%20Royale%20map_zpszzfwrztl.png[/img]
If no one takes a tag from you within three minutes (180
seconds), you may keep it and go to respawn. Hits that you
receive while eliminated don’t count and shouldn’t delay your
respawn in any way. You’re back in the game as soon as you touch
a respawn pole/zone and put away your red rag.
Players who are touching a respawn pole/zone are considered to
be invincible and are, therefore, not required to call their
hits as long as they maintain physical contact with it. It’s in
violation of the spirit of the game to camp the respawn
locations or to stalk a red-ragged player. If someone is
targeting players at the respawn poles, please report it to a
Moderator on radio channel 1 so that the Enforcers can be
deployed. The peripheral respawn poles are orange with yellow
bottles on top. Respawn poles may only be moved at scripted
times by authorized personnel.
If your last dog tag was taken, you must respawn at the Central
Respawn Zone and request more tags at the Moderator tent. The
Central Respawn Zone will be clearly marked with white trail
tape around the perimeter. Players who are lost in the woods
should walk toward the loudspeakers that will be blaring sound
effects from the Moderator tent.
Player Alliances
Players may work together especially when they want to eliminate
a powerful opponent. However, don’t allow your group to grow
too large because we’ll be watching!
Enforcers
A small number of black-dressed Enforcers will be on the field.
They will be heavily armed from the start and will serve to
uphold the spirit of the game by hunting overpowered targets,
eliminating spawn-campers, and performing special missions.
Enforcers will have their own dog tags and must follow the same
hit/respawn rules as the regular players; however, Enforcers
aren’t interested in collecting dog tags. If you attack or
threaten an Enforcer, there will be consequences!
Our Commitment to You
Since helping to take over airsoft operations at Harris Field in
2013, I have never canceled or postponed a publicly announced
event because of unfavorable weather or any other reason. Kinky
and I are fully committed to following through with everything
we advertise. Your opinions and improvement ideas are valuable
to us, so please share your thoughts.
