By: Kilo42 Date: October 22, 2011, 6:19 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Hey everyone! My name is William O'Rourke, I'm 21 years-old, work at walmart (pharmacy), and I'm in college at EMCC. I've never played Airsoft, so this will be a first. I've played paintball, about 15 games. I've never been part of a team, so I look forward to joining yours. I'm good at this category of sport. Out of all the rounds I've ever played (about 45) I've maybe lost three, and that's not to brag. Airsoft is different from paintball in many ways though, and the games I've played at were all "woodsball," so if anyone can give me tips before the game that'd be great. Not that I've ever had a problem with it before, but I'm not accustomed to the velocity of an Airsoft BB, so before a meet, let me know the judgment calls on distance. Well, that's all I have to say. If you have any questions or advice, feel free to send a post. I can't wait to meet you all. #Post#: 4657-------------------------------------------------- Re: What's up! By: spetz Date: October 22, 2011, 6:49 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the forums! I go to EMCC also. Airsoft is quite different from paint ball, you'll find you need to use a lot of tactics to win. Big thing is get the idea of kills, deaths, and personal glory out of your head. I'm not saying this to be a jerk or anything we all at one time played for a good kill death ratio. Think of it as did we (team) complete our objectives. I really got slapped in the face by this last sunday where I spent most of the day sitting with a red rag on waiting for my time to by up, but our team completely dominated the day. Engagement distances vary depending on your weapon. Some you can engage at 300ft others no more then 180ft. Most enagements happen 100-175ft from what I've seen. The big factor here is what's your airsoft weapon? If you have any other questions feel free to ask. #Post#: 4658-------------------------------------------------- Re: What's up! Please use the forums as much as you like and use them. No question is a stupid question. Ask anything and we will get back to you as soon as we can If you do not have an airsoft gun we have some for sale on our forum that come in a variety of conditions and styles, etc. Evike, airsoft gi, hitguns, airsoft megastore, and airsoft atlanta are some webesites i recommend. If i were to give any advice to new players it would be to PLAY SAFE OVER EVERYTHING ELSE. I cannot stress that enough. Please read up on our rules and regs. We will always brief you on the safety regs and rules of game play before trainings and games. #Post#: 4660-------------------------------------------------- Re: What's up!
