This is the main element thread:

       msg7457

       Just a few clarifications:
       - there is a light element.
       - 'dark' is included in the shadow element.
       - 'steel' is included in the mech element.
Dragon types sound interesting, but its easily replaced by
       another type such as flying...
For example, take these two dragon geomon:
       Thrakos = fire/flying
       Ascalon = toxic/flying
I guess we could indeed replace the flying type with dragon
type, but remember we would have to create several more ability
trees, a new elemental icon, and somehow fit it into the
strength/weakness elemental circle. So is it really worth it?

Instead of having a aura element you should have a auramon that
comes out when the norther lights come out or something like
       that

Yeah that seems like a good idea but we would have to somehow
program the radar to detect the presence of northern lights. The
northern lights almost always occur in cold, icy regions, so the
auramon that shows up would probably be didane (ice/light):

Well you would always be able to get it through trading... but
I'm not sure about the whole northern lights idea, because our
radar will not be able to detect the presence of the northern
lights. It would be better if didane showed up in cold, snowy
weather and so make it less region-specific.

Or thick puffy clouds for it to appear, and cold while the clouds
       are there

You are overestimating the power of the radar... it can't detect
'thick puffy clouds'. All it can recognise is 'cloudy' or 'not
cloudy'. But yes, didane would probably show up in cold cloudy
       weather.

The way I see the radar working would be: based on your location
and the weather therein, certain types of geomon would appear
(and, unless the aurora borealis occurs at an exact date and
time we really can't 'detect' it since it's not reported when
getting the weather...which would basically be
       'sunny/cloudy/rain/snow/hail/thunderstorn' and temperature)

What we need to figure out is where we are going to get our
weather data from... In geomon, Loki Studios made an agreement
with Yahoo to use their weather forecasts for the in-game radar.
But what will we do? :-X

       Well, this
  HTML http://www.worldweatheronline.com/weather-api.aspx
       is what I'm
considering using to retrieve weather from since it has so many
ways to get it (IP address [probably via geolocation], city, zip
       code, latitude/longitude...).
but let's not get too far off-topic please ;)
