       Mannix chuckled.
"If you know Michael you know my family. There isn't much more
to know after that, about my family at least. But as that subject
makes you uncomfortable we can move on. So you prefer knowledge
to art but enjoy Sumerian poetry. Do you enjoy other poetry as
       well."

       Mannix raised an eyebrow.
"For a man not interested in labels or families, you sure bring
it up fairly often. So you are saying you are interested in art?
       As well as Ancient knowledge."

my only interest lies in Knowledge but I admire many things. .
.reason I mentioned family is certain names get automatic
negative talks about them without giving the person a change to
not be like the family. . . understand?

       Mannix smiled.
"You are a man of contradictions. You admire many things but are
not interested in them? You do not wish to be judged by a name
but judge me by mine. I do not mind the contradictions, but I
note them for your enlightenment. Hold your secret if you wish.
That is fine Cassius. But you should know I do not judge others
by preconceptions or the eccentricities of their forerunners. So
how many laguages do you speak. I have always wanted to learn
Sumerian. Maybe you would know someone who could teach me?"

       I speak about. . .
       *he pauses a moment*
       30 about I would think . . . gets confuseing sometimes. I could
show you how it may take time unless you show a knack for it. .
. not easy to pick up

Mannix blinked at the rather large number. He hadn't expected
       anything close to that number.
"That is impressive. I would truly be grateful if you could
teach me. I do not know how much of a knack I have, but I do
speak a few languages. Most of the older languages I speak I use
in my scribe work. But I have been thinking of branching out to
some older languages so I can enjoy the poetry and stories, not
to mention interesting volumes I occasionally come across. You
would be surprised what you can see as a scribe."

I will strike a bargain with you then
       *he smiled at Mannix*
I will teach you Sumerian. . . to start. . . If you grant me
Copies of works you scribe or have scribed to add to my
collection. Would this be a ok?

       Mannix looked at the man.
"It takes quite a bit of time and money to scribe a book. I
could possibly trade you a book for lessons. Say one for several
months. Do you have an interest in the holy writ? The vast
majority of what I do and have done are scripture and treatise
on such. I may have a history or two. Al of these are available
for perusal at the Hagia Sofia. Unless there is something in
particular you are wanting scribed for you, in which you would
have to provide the original material."

Maybe if I can see the work you have done I can choose. . But if
one then I do have something you could transcribe for me. . .so
       it's a deal
       *he extended his hand*
We can make it informal or a written contract. . Which ever you
       prefer
