you are already far past them, from what I see."
He knew books, and illustration of that detail were rare.. at
least ones of biology. If she had done more work in detail, it
could be a true challenge.

He nodded his thanks.
"Thank you. I am not sure. It depends on what I have to work
with. Normally a fully illustrated book, with text would take a
month or so. More if you want more than a few of the pictures
illuminated, or extremely detailed. On the other hand I have
been known to work faster if inspired. Also the length of the
book is important as well. To give you a more definitive answer
I need to know what you expect."
He smiled.
"I know it seems like quite a while but a good book takes
careful planning and concentration."

I asked Amaris for a Great Scribe she offered me you. . . had
you said anything less you would not be here any longer. . .
then i would say for the next 10 years you spend at least 1 hour
here with me in making me this book or books. . . you will be
compensated according to what you want

He raised an eyebrow.
"10 years? Then you are planning to make an exhaustive
reference. We can do that, but I want the right to be able to
take certain thing home so I can give them some extended
consecutive time. Some of my best work is done when loosing
myself in the subject. I am guessing just b the 10 years you are
looking at something closer to an 8 volume tome like Galan's or
socrates.
You say according to what I want?10 years goes beyond just
moneys, though that will be needed for the materials used,
considering the amount of work you are talking about, Lady
Alexis. What kind of payment could you offer? Maybe some of the
secrets of death?"

He took her hand and bowed to kiss her wrist with soft practiced
lips. He may be an ex-monk but he was well trained in sensual
arts as well as the more graphic arts. He raised his head to
look in her eyes , a playful smile touching his lips.
"You may have noticed I am a flirt, especially the more time I
spend with a person, if I feel that it is welcome. While I am
not currently looking for a monogamous relationship, I would not
mind exploring to see if a friendly and personal relationship
was ameniable to us both. knowledge is very attractive to me and
