Visiting Day

Mikhail was awake early, not just for his usual schedule of
late, but genuinely early. Dawn had broken when his tall form
could be seen stretching in the kitchen doorway, fresh from
bathing and dressed in his more travel battered clothing. He was
expecting to work with Igor on the training ground today and sat
down at the table to wait for his old teacher and likely to
watch the women of the household work.

the other changed bedding then went about sweeping the house.*

Emma gets a broad smile "only see too it that the household is
particularly clean today, we will have a special guest tonight.
Igor and I will both need to bathe before her arrival so the
bath house will need tidying this evening as well."
Setting to his meal, Mikhail watches Igor intently, waiting for
the man to notice the newly established Holy Corner. "I am sorry
for the short notice Igor, but I received orders last night that
tonight will be my last day off for a month...so the Lady we
spoke of will be visiting us tonight."

Mikhail grins at the pleased expression on hid old teacher's
facd. "I am glad you are pleased Dedushka." It was an endearment
that he didn't often use with Igor anymore, the man wasn't
actually his kin but when he was littler Igor had often enough
been referred to that way.
Mikhail just shrugs at the time comment "war lasts longer, I
expected long stints of duty when I joined. At least this way I
have a short walk home instead of a long ride from foreign
lands." Mikhail finishes hid breakfast in companionable silence,
before sitting back with a contented sigh.
"So Igor, as I will be here today you will not have to prepare
the courtyard alone, will an extra pair of hands fit into your
plans?"

Mikhail laughs and the sound booms in the kitchen as he rises to
his feet. "Hmm, to ride...horse or maiden...or to work with you
my friend? Yes...yes my 'tender' hands can still lift wood, and
put you through your paces afterwards old man." The smirk melts
into a smile on his face and there was the same affection in his
voice when he said 'old man' as when he called Igor grandpa.
"Come, let us all to our work, unless you would pray first
Igor?" he glanced at the candle before the icon of Mary, which
he had left unburned to give Igor that honor.

meetin gwith this woman you seem to praise so deeply
*he went about getting things set up with Mikhail the Woman had
finished there chores and were watching them bring out Cool
Drinks for them as needed. Both seemed to watch Igor more then
Mikhail*

Mikhail laughs again and not for the last time during their
work. "I thank you for your prayers in advance but my honor will
remain in tact I'm sure."
The youth was in rare good humor even for him as they work
together, setting of frames and targets for archery and working
to loft the training frame they had discussed. Whether they
would get it all done or not didn't concern him, they would at
least make an excellent start. Training shields would likely
have to wait but perhaps they get to knocking some of those
together during their breaks from hauling heavy timbers.
Mikhail notices the way the women folk watch Igor and her ribs
the man good naturedly for much of the day. "You have those two
looking so longingly at you Igor, and to think a man at your age
can satisfy them both so well!" Things of that nature, always
said with a laugh in his voice and impish good humor in his
eyes.
As the sun mounts through the sky, the work progresses steadily
and the courtyard becomes increasingly transformed into a
warrior's training ground. It was hears and sweat inducing work
but Mikhail doesn't complain, rather he enjoys the ache of
muscles used differently than they had been for some time.

prepare a bathe for them*

evening . .
