Obviously drivers like Moss for example are just better at it than others but at least we might be able to keep in touch and maybe we might see some different names on the podium, maybe. :P It doesn't have to be open discussions, just a little help on the side. :-X So if you can help it would be much appreciated. ;D ;D ;D Cheers. GAZZA. #Post#: 2738-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: livolay Date: January 24, 2013, 7:09 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Only way to shorten the gap would be to do the one shot qualy with no setups & shorten the race length to 20%. Drew already said he didn't want this. Other than that here is a set-up guide: HTML http://www.youtube.com/user/tiametmarduk1/featured #Post#: 2739-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: drewdawg727 Date: January 24, 2013, 7:18 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Meh, all my earlier grumblings/complaints/bitching is pretty much thrown out the window Livo, as the league is completely different now than it was when we started. I do know that we need to try something different for sure. I've had it in my gut ever since Christmas break that this league is going to fizzle and that feeling hasn't changed. #Post#: 2740-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: GAZZA_308 Date: January 24, 2013, 8:04 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Thanks Livo, that's a big help for me and definitely a more positive outlook than some. ::) Cheers mate. ;D ;D ;D
I do know that we need to try something different for sure.
What would you suggest Andrew?? :) #Post#: 2741-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: livolay Date: January 24, 2013, 8:11 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Well in my opinion that format would help the league. Have 2 races instead of just the one which would mean a quicker season. The season wouldn't then be dragging on. With 2 races there is also the opportunity of finishing the night on a high still if you crash, dsc, have a shocker in the 1st race. Sucks having to wait a whole week to try & get another shot at a result (in my case a month :'(). Set up the championship table with only your best 15 results & that will also help bring the field closer for the guys that can't make certain nights. Would make the championship more exciting IMO. Feel free to reject my ideas, it wouldn't be the 1st time. ;D #Post#: 2742-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: livolay Date: January 24, 2013, 8:17 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Your welcome Gazza. I'm waiting with anticipation for Moss's help & opinion on set-ups. His set-up guide might be a lot more helpful. #Post#: 2743-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: drewdawg727 Date: January 24, 2013, 8:29 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I don't know Gary, quit putting the spotlight on me >:( I will say this though, that setup honestly is not a big factor in this game....it's gonna help you along a little bit but Striker and I tried at least a dozen or more different things to setup in Barcelona over the 3 weeks break that we had and we were able to put up times not more than .5sec apart. This game is really all about consistency and finding the right braking points/acceleration points/hitting all your apexes and being smooth. If you don't have that, a "fast setup" is not going to help you. I bet if Moss, Stubbs, and myself all put up our setups....they would differ greatly. Wheel settings also really really matter in this game more than I've seen before as well. #Post#: 2744-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: camstubbs86 Date: January 25, 2013, 12:57 am --------------------------------------------------------- Hey gaz I'll help u out like I did on the last game which unfortunately was the last race at brasil. But u were very strong with my setup for the 1st half of race. I've been reluctant to share my setup so far for this game as I haven't found a as stable setup for this like I had on 2011. Although for my last 4 league races I've used the same default setup I've been workin on since the release. And since then I've won 3/4 with a come from last to 2nd at our race at canada. Which I had really good pace. And 2 of them I'm beaten dreglar who is like moss in pace. But the funny thing is I've given it too 3/4 others and only 1 of them had success. Go figure. So it's like drew said. U have to understand the games boundaries ei line and exit speed plus brakes before u make a good setup work #Post#: 2745-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: GAZZA_308 Date: January 25, 2013, 3:43 am --------------------------------------------------------- I am not putting the spotlight on you Andrew, you keep saying the league needs changes so all I did was ask what your thoughts were. This season has been full of set backs, 2 patches distributed at 2 different times, to 2 parts of the world, so of course it is dragging out as we all agreed to wait for the Nth Americans. We would be at Monza or further if all went to plan. I personally like the way it is but am always up for anything, or almost anything, lol! I understand that being consistent is a big part of keeping up which is something I haven't been able to do but I think that's more to do with lack of practice. I have been practicing just about all day and trying different braking and driving lines and I think it's helping. Stubbs your advice last season was very helpful and it was my set ups which wasn't on song. I don't quite get the jist of setting up the car so that's why I am asking for help, because I think I am doing something wrong. I am not asking for your personal setup, just for some help. :P :P :P #Post#: 2746-------------------------------------------------- Re: Slower Drivers By: STRIKER Date: January 25, 2013, 10:54 am --------------------------------------------------------- I am aways open with my car setups as drew just sayed before there will be many car setups that will work. I think some people have a natural talent for this game, they don't realy know what is a good car setup becouse everything works! We will improve only with a lot of practice, some people don't have the time for it so i think some changes could be good for this competion. I realy like livos idea about use only your 15 best for the time table, so people that got disconected or coudn't make the race for some reason, wont be too affected. I have frends running a race ligue with this sistem but they take only three poor performances for the season, They also play with 2012 car performance and the cars rotate acording with your previous race. Last on the grig is the first to shoose the car. ***************************************************** DIR Next Page
