DOD is livo, great driving, he had this little over me, my qualifying is great but in the race i know something is wronge, im losing my tires fast so il try and fix that issue i have. thanx to macca for the understanding, great personality cheers. #Post#: 828-------------------------------------------------- Re: Race Reports - Indian Grand Prix By: drewdawg727 Date: February 14, 2012, 4:42 am --------------------------------------------------------- INDIAN RACE REPORT ASF: Q: 5th; 1:21.9, had a pretty crappy run in quali, I was running low 21s on the laps where I barely cut the corner but whatever. R: 3rd; I completely misjudged the lights going off, and Josh was ahead of me in no time. I saw pretty much every car on the grid but Paul get taken out at turn 1...and then got around Paul about 2/3rds of the way down the long straight (and got driven into the side of by him also, what was that about Paul?). When I reached the right hand curve in sector 2, the car was turning as if I had no front wing...it was terrible. I noticed that Paul was doing a fair job holding up Ben and then eventually Macca as well, so was hoping to use that to my advantage. By the end of my options stint, Macca was about 1 sec behind me, so I thought I was quickly headed for a downward spiral through the field as the race went on. Exited the pits and had 5 seconds on Macca somehow (?) and it wasn't before long that he had the gap closed down to 2 sec. Saw that Moussa was closing on Macca very quickly and their battle allowed me to gap them a bit, but Moussa came flying past me on L14 on the DRS straightaway. Couldn't even hold a candle to him, he was 5 sec ahead in 2 laps. Livolay was also catching Macca, disposed of him, and disposed of me as well on L17. He didn't pull away as quick, but on my in lap: 19, saw that Moussa had spun out on the right hander before the final turn, and I followed him right into the pit lane. Side note: As I was losing fuel, I thought that my setup may begin to come to me, and after a while I would be getting around the track better but it was quite the opposite. I felt like the setup I had was terrible, and I think I should have given myself different springs...but oh well. Exited the pits with just a second or two between us, and again, Moussa was gone in 2 laps. L23, Livo exited the pits and collectively, the duo disappeared ahead of me. Tangled with Ben on L25 when he exited the pits and did a horrible job moving off the racing line and instead took us out into the sand at T1...great driving by Ben as usual ::) This put the gap to the duo ahead at around 10 sec, and I noticed Macca was gone behind me on one of these laps (guess he served a penalty). Turned the fuel down and coasted to a 3rd place finish. DOD: Gonna give it to both Moussa and Livo since I couldn't tell which one of them drove better. However, I find it absolutely remarkable how I run (decent) laps, and two drivers that get taken out at T1, get a drive-thru penalty, manage to come through the field and put 20 second gap on us. How is this possible? I knew my setup wasn't great...but I didn't think it was THAT bad. Really goes a long way to show how this auto gears deal really gives a huge advantage, that is the only thing that I think made this possible. #Post#: 829-------------------------------------------------- Re: Race Reports - Indian Grand Prix By: livolay Date: February 14, 2012, 7:03 am --------------------------------------------------------- Q: 4th - Only did one flying lap on primes which was mistake ridden ::) R: 2nd - 1st turn I managed to avoid Macca getting spun by Moss. Apologies again to Gazza for Turn 3. I wasn't expecting you there on the exit of the corner & couldn't stop in time, I think it's my 1st deserved penalty of the season. So I had spun & was last when I did my drive thru with Josh ahead. Lap 2 - I passed Josh but then lost traction & position again at end of sec 1. After Lap 3 I turned my fuel up & went for broke finally getting into a rhythm. Managed the overtakes using DRS on the straight. Unfortunately with my worn tyres my driving got sloppy & I had to back off through sector 2 as I had got about 5 cnr cutting warnings up to my last in lap. When I caught up to Moss on Lap 26 I was using all KERS & DRS with Rich mix but my 7th gear ratio was to short & the closest I came was when I came up next to him on the inside but I had to brake earlier to make the apex. My fuel level went to red with a few laps to go & I seemed to lose time to Moss at certain points of the track but gain on others. Last lap I was racing to the limit getting on Moussa's gear box when I would exit each corner but he managed to pull away each time. Was great racing & Moss won by 4 tenths in a nail bitter. Like him my race was riddled with mistakes & I wasn't happy with my set up either. (TT set up didn't transfer to race) DOD - Drew for the highest finish of the clean racers. ;) #Post#: 830-------------------------------------------------- Re: Race Reports - Indian Grand Prix By: GAZZA_308 Date: February 14, 2012, 11:16 pm --------------------------------------------------------- HTML http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg8isvbqwrE&feature=youtu.be Start of Indian Grand Prix #Post#: 831-------------------------------------------------- Re: Race Reports - Indian Grand Prix By: GAZZA_308 Date: February 14, 2012, 11:29 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Q- down the back of the grid on Primes, thought I might stay out of trouble for the start as I have tangled with Livo for the last 3 races and received a drive through each time, everyone went wide on the first turn so I went through behind Beno in 4th, came to turn 2 and BAM, Livo spun me and I'm back to last. I put my head down to recover some places but did not have a good set up and was sliding all over the place so had to take it easy. Ended up finishing 5th, got to be happy with that. Driver of the Day would be Livo, good job mate. :) #Post#: 832-------------------------------------------------- Re: Race Reports - Indian Grand Prix By: macca9899 Date: February 15, 2012, 1:33 am --------------------------------------------------------- Q= 1st R= 4th Had great lap in quali and shaved 9 tenths of my personal best so I was wrapped. My first pole of the season woohoo ;D Race was a different story however and I did not drive well after my spin in turn one as I was so pi$$ed off. I just couldnt concentrate and that is something that I need to work on. I have no hard feelings towards you at all Moss, at the end of the day it is a game and I know that is not your style to take people out. And I appreciate your apology mate, it is so easy to do at the start of a race and as carefull as we all are it happens from time to time. I was just gutted as I thought I had the potential to finish better than I did. Never mind there is another race next week and I will try to get up there again. I guess I cant complain as that was my first turn one incident for the entire season. Anyway had a few battles throught the race with Beno, and Paul and fought hard as I could to catch drew which I was doing on my first stint on the options but the car went away from me on primes and I couldnt gain anymore. I then got a drive through for corner cutting which really put the nail in the coffin ::) Sorry I cant remember much details but I guess thats the important stuff 8) See you next week guys. *****************************************************
