Ivor #Post#: 3083-------------------------------------------------- Re: A MoWest Marvel By: humboldt Date: June 23, 2020, 12:25 pm --------------------------------------------------------- So do I Ivor but I have a horrible feeling that Blinky may have been the last to escape from the vaults for a very, very long time! #Post#: 3165-------------------------------------------------- Re: A MoWest Marvel By: laserdk 2001 Date: June 24, 2020, 12:52 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Oh poo!! Ivor #Post#: 5199-------------------------------------------------- Re: A MoWest Marvel By: Silly Wasnt I Date: September 17, 2020, 11:35 am --------------------------------------------------------- Does anybody have a handy list of all the group members? I wonder how many of them carried on at Motown in other roles. SWI #Post#: 5204-------------------------------------------------- Re: A MoWest Marvel By: humboldt Date: September 17, 2020, 1:37 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Hi Eric, if you click on each name on the link below you will see what else they have done which is not a lot! Andrew Porter, Greg Wright, Harold Johnson, Karin Patterson, Olivia Foster HTML https://www.discogs.com/artist/299643-The-Devastating-Affair #Post#: 5214-------------------------------------------------- Re: A MoWest Marvel By: Silly Wasnt I Date: September 17, 2020, 11:51 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Thanks John. Looks as if all the guys were songwriters later but the gals did little more than a bit of background vocalising on very few tracks. That's sad. As a group they were unforgettable but seemingly the reverse is true for most of their solo careers. I note that one of the guys wrote a couple of tunes for Philly acts. SWI [/quote] Eric, I didn't know that. Who and what are they please? Ivor #Post#: 5303-------------------------------------------------- Re: A MoWest Marvel By: Silly Wasnt I Date: September 20, 2020, 6:15 am --------------------------------------------------------- Hi Ivor, Harold Johnson wrote BROTHERS AND SISTERS which was on the MFSB album PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM and he had a track on the WMOT album BLUE MAGIC, MAJOR HARRIS, MARGIE JOSEPH LIVE - but I see that the song is YOU'RE A SPECIAL PART OF ME, so it's a Motown tune. Maybe these are both cover versions of Motown songs. SWI #Post#: 5314-------------------------------------------------- Re: A MoWest Marvel By: laserdk 2001 Date: September 20, 2020, 12:07 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Thanks Eric. Funnily enough, "Brothers And Sisters" is listed on my list of unreleased Devastating Affair tracks which UK Motown sent me back in the '70s which I stumbled on the other day whilst looking for my list of unreleased Jerry Butler tracks which I can't find.
