By: Josh Date: August 2, 2018, 11:30 pm --------------------------------------------------------- This is inspired by a website (here HTML https://agoodmovietowatch.com if you're interested) A lot of forums have a "what's your favorite movie/book/band" thread and/or a "what did you last read/watch/listen to" thread. While those are cool, this is a little bit different. Instead of just stating what you last watched or what you like the most, try writing a brief recommendation as you would to a friend, or you'd publish on a blog. What's something you saw that you think someone else would enjoy, and why? What audiences would like it? Who wouldn't? Here HTML https://agoodmovietowatch.com/shows/rectify/ is an example of what I mean. Here's my recommendation for an AMAZING show called Rectify: HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rd0_nNkdi0c Rectify is an incredible show about the emotional journey one man takes upon his release from death row after 19 years. The acting, direction, and soundtrack of this series is unparalleled. While it does tackle some pretty intense topics like the death penalty, corruption, spirituality, and more, the show’s primary focus is exploring a story of a much more intimate nature. Daniel is the show’s main protagonist – a smart, thoughtful, damaged man who’s both vulnerable, yet mysterious. His release affects everyone in his family very differently – some, like his sister, Agatha, had been fighting for his release since the day he was arrested. Others, like his brother-in-law, suspect he’s guilty of the crime he was accused of. Still others, like the town sheriff, want to find new evidence to lock him away again. That said, this is a story that’s driven primarily by characters – and it’s a slow burn. The plot might be too slow for those who want to find out right away if Daniel is innocent or not of the crime. But if you watch the scene in the very first episode when Daniel meets his mother and sister outside of a prison cell for the first time in nearly twenty years and you don’t feel a torrent of powerful emotion, then this may not be the best series for you. But the rest of you will surely be mesmerised by the thoughtfulness and beauty of this show. #Post#: 17-------------------------------------------------- Re: I Recommend... By: Gabriel P Date: August 7, 2018, 1:16 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I have to recommend this new book series I'm reading known as the "Wolf by Wolf" series by Ryan Graudin. This series is really thought out and well written, I'm currently on the first book (Wolf by Wolf) and I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a good read. The series takes place in an alternate world where the Nazi's win World War 2 and set up their almost global empire. The series will keep you on the edge of your seat and is growing to be one my favorite series I've ever read! *****************************************************
