       Speed, does it rule, drool, or is it ok to mix slow and fast?

       So everyone is a speed addict.  They are brainwashed to think
       you need to have all speed characters.  If a character is not
       140+ speed they simply are not arena material.  Must have
       cannons.  You can't win with at least 2 cannons and high speed.
       Well I'm here to call bullshit.  The thing I always say, balance
       and synergy with strategy.
       I have run the speedy DPS team
       I have run the Poe team
       I've run most comps you can think of.
       The best are synergy and balance based.
       When I ran IG-86 on 4 different 1st place teams all I heard was
       "he's too slow switch him out for.....Insert fast character like
       Rey.  Rey while she is fairly quick has crap for HP and is not a
       great synergy character.  The lovely Rey is a pure striker plain
       and simple.  Back in my fight days we'd call her the 1 hit
       wonder.  She comes out catches you with that magic shot she can
       jack you up, but she is so easy to beat and counter.  86 had
       decent enough HP to not get 1hko.  On an assist team with speedy
       assists like QGJ and GS him getting called with his powerful
       basic was nice.  Poggle lead +25%.  Again synergy.  Characters
       that go together.
       The team I run right now is neither a speed or DPS team.  It has
       some speed, some DPS, but it is not that team.  Speeds next to
       them
       Dooku lead(QGJ on attack at times) 161
       QGJ 137(160 lead)
       GS 149
       Daka 136
       RG(only 5* but max gear) 110
       By no means is the team above considered a speed team.  Nor is
       it a DPS team with only 1 true cannon and RG does little damage,
       Daka is a lower power hitter.
       So I literally as writing this faced a DPS team.  All max
       Phasma lead
       Poe
       86
       FOTP
       GS
       Not a speed team but an assit DPS team.  I took 1st from them
       lost only RG
       So why this build why not put Rey(seems everyones flavor)  While
       I agree Rey is a very good hero.  I find her about as
       threatening as an infant when I attack.  Dooku lightening takes
       1/2 her life away just about.  I have so many ways to end her
       before she moves without much effort.  I can still use Dooku to
       stun an actual threat, and kill her before she goes.  She is
       just one, like Barriss, that when I see her I think ok 5-4.  I
       plan to test her when I have her more ready, but I doubt she
       sticks longer than the "I used Rey to get 1st" feeling.  I
       vastly prefer good synergy.
       Ok so I sure have said synergy enough.  Where is the synergy in
       my team?  It looks more like a collection of characters, Sith,
       Jedi, No names, Oldf bat.
       Wonderful question.  Not all synergy is obvious.  I ran a team
       back in the Poe days built for round 2 synergy.  Anyway back to
       THIS synergy.  First my shard.  A late Nov Shard with 2
       Instinct, 3 FTB, and 2 other TNR and a plethora of very strong,
       whale and Dolphin teams that are highly active round the clock.
       I'll go with my presently in team(1st at payout, 1st as I write
       this)  I have good reason for QGJ as non lead.
       Dooku lead(QGJ on attack at times) 161
       GS 149
       QGJ 137(160 lead)
       Daka 136
       RG(only 5* but max gear) 110
       Dooku gives evasion and offense up on evade.  Dooku is a pain in
       the ass.  That 1st turn stun is great.
       GS That 1hko power so early ices Rey, FOTP,88, at times 86 or
       opposing GS but need killer luck.
       QGJ  Such options.  Assist attack, basic which gives TM, Debuff
       and give Offense up.
       Daka an RNG Goddess. Basic attack stuns and ok damage.
       Heal/revive Her speed gives you good option
       RG Speed does not matter his taunt activates wehen one goes
       below 50.  He gains TM at 14% and 4% HP anytime an ally is
       damaged.  I've had RG go before Poe
       So dooku sets the tone.  Stun opposing QGJ, or use the
       lightening to chance stun 86, 88 or FOTP, very least do 3kish
       damage.  GS comes in and kills Rey, or finishes what Dooku
       started on a cannon.  QGJ going where he does allows me the
       option if I got unlukcy and opposing RG activated to debuff and
       gain offense up.  He also goes just after Poe, so same logic,
       debuff and buff team.  Daka I can heal or toss out a stun.  I
       typically save heal unless I've been hit to red or multiple
       yellow and RG is under 50%.  RG is my sheils.  At 15k HP and the
       buff and the self heal on ally dps he is one hell of a shield.
       He gives you time to take out your opposition.
       The synergy is that they go together in a succession that makes
       them successful.  I can add speed by shifting QGJ to lead.  I
       have a stun, 2 assist attacks very fast.  Poe activates, RG
       activates my heavy hitters have just gone, my debuffer just
       gone.  Now TM down ect I'm forced to fire on a shield and take a
       licking, but wait my shield activates too.  RG contingency.
       Daka heals me as we shield war.  RG basic 90% stun.  The synergy
       is they protect each other well.  Feed off each other.  I prefer
       the Dooku lead now to QGJ because I feel I get more utility and
       option on QGJ at 137 as opposed to 160.  Everyone is running Poe
       or RG now.  I want that option at 137 as opposed to that assist
       strike early on.  The team above is built to live.  I can go a
       burst round with terrible RNG vs a DPS team and still win
       because of how the team clicks.  RG gets called to assist it is
       not big damage, but almost always results in a stunned enemy.
       Daka does more damage, and stuns decently, double even at times.
       QGJ and Dooku gain TM if they assist, if it is vs a Jedi Dooku
       can AB and/or stun.  GS gets called it is good DPS and he can
       self buff, if he crits gains TM.
       They all feed off each other, all do things that can help each
       other be stronger, faster, more impactful.  That ios where the
       synergy is. 3 gain TM in fight.   It is pure synergy.  There are
       many builds that have that synergy that you must look deeper to
       see.  Any team can take 1st.  How many can stay in the top 10
       round the clock?  I have had this team on D since the update.
       It has been as is for 2 days now.  I have not left the top 10.
       I need not waste fights to get back there.  None of my builds
       ever drop out of the top 20, rarely out of top 15.  Typically
       stay top 10.  not bragging just making a point that synergy is
       king, not speed, not DPS, balance and synergy.
