Subj : FIDONET NETMAIL, CRASH, ROUTED OR DIRECT?

Been 3 months working on getting my board connected to fidonet. Latest issue is my hub has asked for me to use "routed" or "direct" depending on the  netmail. In setting up my node details, there is only "normal", "crash" or "direct." Can someone explain the differences and how I would comply with the "routed" selection?
