Oh, that brings back memories.  We had a totally incompetent programmer at my
last company.  When I reviewed his code, I tried to explain the problem that I
found.  tl;dr; he wrote a multi-threaded program that deadlocked itself in the
database.

He would often use the terms that he was on a "higher level" and that's why I
couldn't understand how he did it the right way.

But he was black and management was afraid to get rid of him.  Then came some
layoffs, and off he went.  2 days later I was asked to re-do his software.
