Subj : Europe made a good decision To : All From : Joseph Pereira Date : Mon Dec 22 2025 04:02 am Wars can be lost in several ways. The biggest risk of losing the war for Ukraine now was the fact that it was on the verge of bankruptcy. The Ukrainian economy cannot support the war. That's not surprising, because the center of the economy was in the east, where heavy industry was located. That part of Ukraine was occupied by Russia and completely destroyed when the Russians conquered it. The rest of the economy was primarily agricultural. That is now struggling due to the war and the fact that only the port of Odessa is still usable, and even that port is operating at limited capacity. Ukraine needs at least 40 billion euros a year, and Europe has now decided to lend that minimum amount to Ukraine for the next two years. Financially, Ukraine can therefore continue for two years. That will be a great relief in Kyiv and a major disappointment in Moscow. After all, can Russia even hold out for another two years? This is becoming a war of attrition, and thanks to Europe, Russia has been dealt a heavy blow. Despite all the Russian propaganda, the right decision was made in Brussels. . .
