Anyone who is interested in Image BBS X-Tec who has been working tirelessly
to make this thing stable since I sent him pretty much the only working copy
in captivity in 2016 has released update 3.1 to the v2.0 program. It is
pretty solid now. I have also released my new toy for new sysOp's and
seasoned pro's who can't get Image to run in WinVice with TCPSER. I call it
BBS on a stick! What you do is unzip it to a USB Stick on a PC, double click
a file called RUNME.BAT and it automatically boots TCPSER, and WinVice with 4
FD4000 disks attached with Image BBS already on them. All you have to do is
setup a BBS from scratch by entering all of your info. Once configured the
BBS boots to a waiting for call screen and all you need to do at that point
is open your firewall and get a dns server.. The modem is pre-configured as
is WinVice and TCPSER. Makes setting up a Commodore BBS simple! At some
point in the future I will release it as a CD .iso as another form of
media to use to distribute it. It's available on Facebook in the Image group,
and will be sent out via the fsxNet in a couple of days. It has
been released in the NISSA name (New Image SysOp support Association - the
sysOp group I ran back in the 90's) it is my first NISSA release in over 25
years! There's more where this came from'!
