Subj : Introducing: The STO Watch List To : All From : Lord Time Date : Wed May 20 2026 22:44:56 Introducing: The STO Watch List The Watch List is here to make you aware of the likely contents of future patches, so you can make more informed choices. By Ambassador Kael May 20, 2026, 07:00 AM In broad terms, a “Watch List” is sometimes used within gaming properties to communicate to players areas of mechanical concern that we – the game’s developers – are “watching.” This doesn’t mean just staring at the problem, or watching players, items on this list are subject to developer discussion and testing before any changes are deployed. The purpose of communicating these items publicly is to facilitate player awareness when certain features, items, abilities, or systems are performing noticeably above or below our expectations and have been flagged for evaluation and probable change. Or, put more simply: The Watch List is here to make you aware of the likely contents of future patches, so you can make more informed choices. But this document is about more than just awareness. It’s also meant to serve as a sort of promise to our players that we will be taking seriously the evaluations of the things that appear here. It is our broad goal that anything listed herein is addressed in a somewhat timely manner. This could mean tuning passes and patches, but it also means regular re-review of the contained items, as items can also be removed from the Watch List by virtue of simply not being as significant of a tuning issue as originally believed. In either case, we are signing up to remove items from the Watch List – they should not live here in perpetuity. We will also be doing our best to communicate our thoughts on why certain things appear on this Watch List, and even what specific areas of performance we might be evaluating for future changes. It is also important to clarify that this Watch List will only be tracking things that are mechanically out of balance, or in need of tuning. At least for now, it is not intended for evaluating or prioritizing issues related to server performance, costumes, UI/UX, or bugs and data errors. The process by which this list gets populated is driven largely by you – the players – and by the feedback that makes its way to us, usually from our Official Discord. That’s not to say that the responsibility is entirely on you, but simply to reflect that this process will be better served by working with you, to understand what areas of the game are of particular interest or concern. As such, we will be dedicating a space in our Discord specifically to Watch List discussion. Without further ado, I give you – The Watch List!
