Thanks for sharing.  :) I've downloaded the source code, and I'll check it out.
Also, why only source code and no binaries?

One thing I've been considering adding to SlyEdit is tag lines, allowing the
user to (optionally) choose a tag line upon saving a message from a list of tag
lines, similar to what DCT Edit (and maybe IceEdit?) used to do.
