I read them in sixth grade and thought they were great. I was caught more
by the Narnia series and star trek novels. I was also a big fan of heinlein
and asimov.

I watched the first lotr movie and fell asleep. I never enjoy movies adapted
from novels because, as a back-seat director, they always skip the story
points I always want to see, and then they exaggerate scenes that play
very little into the story. But that's just me.
