I just remembered that another thing missing from the Express editions is MFC (Microsoft's proprietary library for creating a Windows GUI with C++). I had a job for a few years at a company that used purely Linux and other open-source software. I had used Linux at home sometimes too, but it helped to see Linux in action in a business environment. As long as people are willing to learn Linux (or perhaps are already familiar with it), it's pretty awesome to be able to use Linux for business and not have to pay any money for license fees, upgrading, etc. if you don't want to.
