Most modern users can't deal with Ar> user-password credentials at all. Telegram allows you to hide your number, but not hide the fact you are using it. If you use Signal you have to resign yourself to the fact that everyone else who has your number will know you are on it. With Telegram, they'll know your username. I guess its to make things easier, but I wasn't comfortable with that software making announcements like that automatically. I may NOT WANT someone who has my number to know I'm using Signal. ....
