There actually was not one in my town (of ~30,000), either, until about
10-15 yrs ago.  I have never been to that particular one as there are some 
local joints with good breakfast food.  It also had the misfortune of
moving in back before there was a Cracker Barrel... which moved in just to 
the other side of the interstate.
