What terminal program you using? Well it has built in wifi and ethernet. Not sure why a Commodore64 would need ethernet, but I think it is compatible with the cartridges they had for that back in the day. The wifi/ethernet is tied to some kind of internet modem emulator so you can just type in atdtsomehostname:port and it will go there...but it doesn't work to my local telnet server with anything but UltimateTerm, which is included. In general I still use NovaTerm 9.6, which does 80 columns and ANSI graphics. I used to use that on VICE as well, which had to be shunted through tcpser for modem emulation...it is a lot easier on this box. For some reason they included two 40-column-only terminal programs on the included thumb drive (which is shaped like a cassette tape). NovaTerm is probably the best for any proper BBSing on such a machine. Oh yes and they also have baked into it something called "CommoServe Search" where you can search for games. I haven't used it much. Seems like the C64U would be an ideal thing for a GOPHER client.
