NB> VMs haven't seemed to install properly booting from a USB stick in NB> recent attempts, so I've been using the DVD-ROM as well as just NB> loading the ISO from the local drive. I've never tried booting a VM from USB stick but have recently booted a maintenence system from a usb flash drive using the usb3 addon card. Mostly I use it to copy development images I created to a regular sata drive (sometimes a ssd) and make it bootable for a targetted system. I was using it to create bootable uSD cards for the raspi3 via a card reader plugged into one of the ports on the addon card. NB> I'm already looking into a couple more hard drives so I don't NB> have to worry about space in the near future. I have trouble filling up a single drive nevermind more. As we speak my latest custom build for a 8 core (single thread per core) C2758 sits at around 750M for the root/boot system and around 800M for all the source, build scripts and latest packages built from the source and acripts. At this rate it would take forever for me to fill a terrabyte drive, nevermind multiple ones. However I do have backup drives although they probably need to be upgraded soon. NB> Once I make that decision I may make some room to give LFS some NB> more of my time. Definetly well worth whatever space you dedicate to it ... and then some. These days 8G is more than enough free space to build a custom root/boot. I think between two terrabyte drives you should be able to find enough space for it. Life is good, Maurice .... Don't cry for me I have vi. --- GNU bash, version 4.4.12(1)-release (x86_64-silvermont-linux-gnu) * Origin: Little Mikey's Brain - Ladysmith BC, Canada (1:153/7001) .
