I believe that rumour was an Island based brewerie looking to expand to a 
distillery with one of the products being a single malt whiskey.  The Surrey 
(mainland greater Vancouver area) apparently already has distilled a single 
malt whiskey so they probably have a jump on the Island based one which I am 
not sure but would guess to be in the greater Victoria area.

That would be nice but highly unlikely since they usually abandon the 
neighbourhood for the holidays.  One neighbour usually sticks it out - will 
this year as well - but he is unlikey to spring for any cheer nevermind a 
single malt.  To be quite honest that is just as well as neither of us are all 
that holiday minded.
