BINGO!  We were driving to town and about 1km down the road from here lo and 
behold a flock of about 20-30 of them ran across the road in front of us.  No 
chicks but I imagine the chicks are all grown up by now.  After all quail 
aren't all that big.  No pictures as it happened too fast and we weren't 
prepared.  However I was happy to see them and am not more hopeful that the 
local neighbourhood flock is just lying low for now and will show themselves 
again after Labour Day if not sooner.
