Our green party in the USA doesn't do much more than appear at federal election time, take potential votes from the democratic candidate, then disappear until the next federal election. There may be regional/local candidates I'm aware of making progress, but with campaign finance canted towards corporate influence and deep pockets, we're a 2-party system. Many urban areas here have similar rent control laws. The downside is that the housing doesn't get improved much in the process when you can only raise rent by so much. My only experience is near a college with lots of off-campus housing needed and San Francisco, though. --- MultiMail/Win v0.52 * Origin: http://realitycheckbbs.org | tomorrow's retro tech (1:218/1) .
