I have an "action camera," an Akaso Brave 6+, should I ever be motivated enough to pick up running. ;) I have used it to take stills and footage. The footage is pretty good. For stills, I prefer my purpose built camera. IIRC, the 6+ was the last version before they started adding "social media friendly" accessories (like a second screen on the front) which, in order to keep the small "action camera" profile, forced them to have to compromise on picture quality by removing/downsizing other bits.
