That seems to be the general consensus here.

That's OK. I am content with my local A&W (A&W Canada is a separate
company and unlike yours, still quite popular and successful.)
Michael Loo was impressed with the quality of their Alberta Angus
beef when he tried one here.

When in Edmonton I can get to Harvey's (a Canadian chain, patties
are charcoal grilled while you wait and you select your own toppings
and condiments from dozens of choices).

If I want crazy good loaded chili cheese fries and excellent
milkshakes for a couple of bucks more we now have Fatburger in
Canada and lately right here in Yellowknife.

And if I am willing to spend $18 on a burger, $12 for a salad and $9
on a pint of one of a dozen fine drafts in nice surroundings the
Delux Burger Bar in Edmonton is amazing. This last one is by no
means a fast food joint but a memorable dining experience.

Same. But Yellowknife doesn't have such a burger place these days.
We used to have an excellent little cafe run by a Czech lady who
made fantastic caribou burgers and gulas (goulash) soup with
broad, thick noodles. But she retired some time ago and caribou is
no longer widely available.

The old KFC also made "Lennie" burgers which were pretty good. They
were unique in North America as nobody else had permission to do
that. But Lennie's dad did a handshake deal with Harlan Sanders
himself back in 1968. YUM brands forced the grandkids to stop in 2015
and they dropped the franchise to operate as Lennie Burger again for
a while and then sold out. The space is now a bar called Harley's
Hard Rock Saloon which narrowly escapes not one but two trademark
lawsuits. And the original Lennie burger location from before the
family bought a KFC franchise is now my Coldwell Banker office.
