Subj : Donations and Recycling To : DALE SHIPP From : JIM WELLER Date : Sun Jun 05 2022 17:21:00 -=> Quoting Dale Shipp to Dave Drum <=- DS> I think that ReStore is one of the better donation sites. I think highly of them. Coldwell Banker made Habitat their main charity in both the USA and Canada to support. DS> Goodwill is decent, but not 100% non-profit. They are a registered charity but their executive salaries at the top are outrageous. Most of the Canadian ones shut down when the bad publicity came out. DS> Salvation Army sounds to me They do great things. DS> AmVets I had to look them up. Why do you have AmVets when you have the Legion? DS> Of course there are numerous local charities that do operate an DS> honorable operation. I am naming above those that I know of that have DS> more than a local footprint. The Yellowknife Women's Society runs a shelter for homeless women and their children among other things while the YWCA here runs both a battered women's shelter and a transitional housing project for people getting back on their feet but not quite ready to enter the market economy for rental housing. They do great work and all of them gets Roslind's and her friends' giveaway clothing and more.
