In both systems there are 2 gills to a cup, 2 cups to a pint, 2 pints
to a quart and 4 quarts to a gallon. But an English gill is 5 ounces
and an American gill is just 4 ounces.

It ought to be! It's not all McDonalds. Their best is excellent.

The USA (and Canada) is populated by the descendants of immigrants
so we have all sorts of surnames. The majority of the American
3 star restaurant owners are indeed American despite having last
names like Keller, Kokonas, Meyer and Guidara.
