If you're talking ice hockey - yeah. Field Hockey - not so much. Try Egypt. Drawings of what looks to be hockey have been found in an Egyptian tomb that was 4000 years old. Maple syrup is a north-east US/eastern Canada thing - not exclusively Canadian. Altho Quebec is responsible for 70% of current world production. Maple syrup was first made and used by the Indigenous peoples of North America. The practice was adopted by European settlers, who gradually changed production methods. Technological improvements in the 1970s further refined syrup processing. Virtually all of the world's maple syrup is produced in Canada and the United States. Including Illinois - where National Natural Landmark Funk's Grove has produced maple sirup (their spelling) since shortly after Illinois was settled. Maple syrup/sirup is NOT may favourite pancake topping, I much prefer honey or jam/jelly/preserves.
