At 80 I scan the obit page in my local (what's left of it) newspaper for people I know/knew. And I note people younger than me have fallen off their twig. OTOH, my good friend and fellow chilli cook, Les, is 85 and just got married to a *much* younger woman (mid-60s). SD> never really thought about it until I was into my mid-40s. My own near-misses with death in May brought that SD> to front-and-center again in my mind. I is had several near misses including having my blood glucose crash to the low 40s and having almost bled out (internally) due to an ulcer I didn't know about that was caused by the Alleve I was taking for my osteoarthritis pain. FEH! I'm just enjoying it as it goes on.
