Subj : Covid To : Dale Shipp From : Ruth Haffly Date : Sun Jul 17 2022 16:31:06 Hi Dale, DS> We have not really been too close to groups of people, but Gail woke DS> up with a sore throat -- and then tested positive for Covid. I tested DS> negative, but expect that by tomorrow I'll be positive. The result is DS> Day 2, I tested positive. I was sure that I would. Neither of us DS> have had really critical symptoms. Gail has had a bit of diarea -- a DS> listed side effect of the special medicine doctor gave her. My legs DS> wobbly than usual. Not fun, hopefully it's a light case for both of you. RH> Ouch! Hopefully you'll both get over it fast. I know you had the RH> initial shots; did they come around with boosters? When I checked in at DS> We have had two initial shots and two booster shots. I've had the 2 initial shots, one booster. Will be talking with my primary care dr when I see him in Sept. about the need (yes or no) for a second booster. So far we've avoided Covid but the bronchitis has been worse for me this year. Now that we're home for a while, I should have time enough to get fully rid of it. DS> that we are on quarantine for ten days. Mail, prescriptions and food DS> will be delivered to the door. Food is a selection from a limited DS> menu of about five things. RH> Do you have enough supplimental foods in your fridge and pantry to RH> round out what is furnished? Also, can you order in from outside and RH> have it delivered to the apartment? Some of the lock down rules may RH> work in small facilities but I can see the need for some flexibility in RH> a place the size of yours. DS> So far we have not seen the need to use any supplimental foods from DS> the frig or freeze. The real problem is that our wake-up schedule DS> does not sync well with their times for giving dinner choices. Sigh! I can understand the need for doing everything on a schedule in a place that size but it's too bad they can't allow a few exceptions to the rule. DS> These days, this recipe as stated makes more than four servings. I'd DS> guess between six and eight. I think we've all cut back on our eating. We did a bit of grocery shopping Friday night and Saturday morning (Wegman's and farmer's market). I think we'll be doing low fuss cooking for a bit longer, probably a protein and fresh veggies that don't take a lot of work to fix. DS> Title: Beef/Mushrooms DS> Categories: Crockpot, Easy DS> Yield: 4 Servings This does look good, and extras can be put into the freezer for quick and easy meals. I'm going to work on going thru the stuff in the freezer, hopefully a lot of easy meals will come from it. I do know we have some racks of ribs--will probably pull one (maybe 2) out this week and have Steve smoke it. --- Catch you later, Ruth rchaffly{at}earthlink{dot}net FIDO 1:396/45.28 ....
