My parents often got a box of assorted spreads from one of Mom's sisters for Christmas. That meant that one Sunday night's supper in January would usually be "cheese" and crackers. The spreads were in small, triangular packages; in order that all 7 of us could have a taste of each spread, we had to spread the stuff rather thinly on the cracker.
