Satchel Paige became the first African American pitcher in American League history in 1948, which he helped the Cleveland Indians become World Series champions that year. Satchel Paige was a living legend. Known as the greatest pitcher in the Negro Leagues, it is possible that he was the greatest pitcher that ever lived.
