13 February 1633 - ASTRONOMER GALILEO IN ROME FOR INQUISITION TRIAL:
Galileo Galilei arrives in Rome to stand trial for advocating that the
Earth revolves around the Sun, a criminal heresy to the Roman Catholic
Inquisition. Galileo will be found "vehemently suspect of heresy" and
sentenced to indefinite house arrest, where he will remain until his
death.

The Galileo affair began around 1610 and culminated with the trial and
condemnation of Galileo Galilei by the Roman Catholic Inquisition in
1633. Galileo was prosecuted for his support of heliocentrism, the
astronomical model in which the Earth and planets revolve around the Sun
at the centre of the universe.

      Title: Galileo Italian Classico Sandwich
 Categories: Breads, Beef, Pork, Vegetables, Cheese
      Yield: 1 sandwich

      2 sl Sourdough bread
      1 oz Italian vinaigrette
      2 sl Provolone or Ementhal
           - cheese 
  1 1/2 oz Galileo Pepperoni
  1 1/2 oz Galileo Italian Dry Salame
  1 1/2 oz Sliced turkey
    1/4 c  Iceberg lettuce; shredded
      4 sl (to 6) dill pickle
      2 sl (to 3) tomato
           Sliced black or green olives
           - opt

  Lightly drizzle the vinaigrette on one side of both
  pieces of bread.

  On the dressed side of one bread slice, layer cheese,
  Galileo Pepperoni, Galileo Italian Dry Salame, turkey,
  and veggies.

  Top with the second bread slice, dressed side down, cut
  sandwich in half and enjoy!
