Read what it does, and if that is important to you then buy it.  If you
don't care (or do not believe the claims) then don't buy it.  There are
people here who would not drink tap water without such a filter. Others
(including me) who are perfectly OK with the water that comes out of the
tap.  The difference often varies with location.  Some areas have bad
water, others good.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Baked Macaroni And Cheese
 Categories: D/g, Pasta, Cheese, Boat
      Yield: 6 servings
 
      2 tb Butter
    1/4 c  Flour
      1 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Dry mustard
    1/4 ts Red pepper
  2 1/2 c  Milk
      3 c  Cheese, cheddar; grated;
           Mixture of cheese if you
           Have them
      2 c  Macaroni, elbow; uncooked;
    1/4 c  Bread crumbs; regular
 
  Cook the macaroni to al dente stage.

  In 3 quart saucepan melt butter over low heat.  Stir in flour,
  salt, mustard and pepper until mixed well.  Remove from heat.
  Gradually stir in milk until smooth.  Stirring constantly, cook over
  medium heat about 10 minutes or until thickened.  Remove from heat.
  Stir in 2 cups of the cheese until melted.  Turn macaroni into
  greased 3 quart casserole.  Pour cheese mixture over macaroni, mix
  well.   Mix remaining cheese and bread crumbs; sprinkle over top of
  casserole.
  
  Can be made ahead of time, refrigerated and cooked later. Add 15 min
  to cooking time.
  
  Bake 375 oven 25 minutes or until topping is lightly browned.
  
  Serves 4 - 6
